Story
Kuberaa delves into the transformative journey of a beggar who becomes entangled in the pursuit of wealth. The narrative explores themes of greed, ambition, and the moral dilemmas faced by individuals, leading them on a quest for redemption. The film’s title, referencing the Hindu god of wealth, underscores its focus on the consequences of materialistic desires.
Production
Announced in June 2021, Kuberaa marks Dhanush’s 51st film as a leading actor. Initially titled D51, the project was later renamed DNS to represent Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Sekhar. The official title, Kubera, was announced in March 2024, and subsequently amended to Kuberaa.
Principal photography began in January 2024 in Hyderabad, with subsequent schedules in Tirupati, Goa, Bangkok, and Mumbai. Notably, a shooting sequence near the Alipiri ghat in Tirupati caused traffic disruptions, leading to public complaints.
Budget
Kuberaa is produced with a budget ranging between ₹90–120 crore. Reports indicate that Dhanush charged approximately 36% of the total budget for his role.

The film’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy and editing by Karthika Srinivas. The production design is helmed by Thota Tharani.
